The Diversity Mark for Early Years is a new standard for Early Years settings. The Standard is aimed at improving diversity and inclusion in the early years context with a focus on enabling children and learners to develop themselves, knowing that differences are respected within a setting that has a clear focus on equality of educational outcomes, cultivated in an ethos that values for the differences of learners.
The Diversity Mark for Early Years will also be awarded at 4 levels of achievement, providing a practical framework, that encourages collaboration between early years providers and inclusive practice.
The Diversity Mark for Early Years aligns with The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, the Ofsted inspection framework and the Teachers’ Standards (Early Years). We will
also launch of a Diversity Mark for Further and Higher Education from September 2018.
The Diversity Mark is already the leading diversity and inclusion standard for schools and will now set the benchmark across the education sector with the Diversity Mark logo being synonymous with a commitment to inclusion and outstanding practice.
